I know you all are excited to once again have me expound on the joys of demouseification. Well the end is finally in sight. I learned a lot from this experience: some new things, some reinforcing old.
Firstly renting a rug doctor is totally worth it. If you ever have to clean your rugs, I would have to say that's the way to go. 20 bucks for twenty four hours. And the cleaner that goes with it isn't terribly expensive either.
Second, in the battle against rodents, putting cotton balls with peppermint oil on them down their little escape hatches and where ever you think they are likely to go, be, come from, will keep them out. It's been proven by the local farmers. It's so effective, it even deters rats.
Against spiders, a 1:1 ratio of coconut oil and apple cider vinegar is the way to go. You just mix it up, and rub it on your baseboards or up in the ceiling corners, and voila! Kind of like spider salad dressing. I don' t think it kills them, it just keeps them away.
3. My mother gave me a new nick name: Monk. As in Adrienne Monk from the TV show. I think I'm tame compared to him even if I am on the fastidious side of neat freak. Tenrai speculates "Monk" might possibly win out over "Flash." Although be glad you all aren't here, or rather I should be glad, or else I'd get a different name. After two days of almost non stop cleaning, I smell very like the big cat building at MPZ.
Anyway, that's about it for learning new stuff. Things that I already knew? My mom drives me bat shit crazy. She forgets what she says, and then blames me for not listening. Or she didn't say anything at all to begin with, and I'm just expected to read her mind. Also trying to be polite is really getting to be not worth. I get yelled at whether I am or not. Why not get yelled at for a reason? Also, asking for a simple favor of "don't put this particular item in this particular place if you happen to use it" got me a lecture of how I should just ~know~ and be there to take care of it. Er.... I can't monitor stuff 24/7. Sorry.
When cleaning, if you haven't wanted it or used it in two years, pitch it. (Give away is fair, too.) Just kind of a good standard. It makes paring down to essentials a bit easier. Next week I think I'll attack my clothing. As much as this whole ordeal has sucked, at least everything will be in order, clean, and down to basics.
I need some sleep and a shower. Not necessarily in that order. Yay! I'm almost done cleaning and I can start putting my room back in order, so I can set up my computer, and so I can get my portfolio on CD, so I can friggin' apply to jobs! But we all knew that getting the room clean was the priority, right?
Ok. That's enough. I can't stand being next to myself any longer. 'Night all!
