Yes, I started watching Sket Dance. Got interested in it when I found out that the author used to be Sorachi-sensei (Gintama)'s assistant. Plus the collab episode.... Anyway, first, some thoughts on the show in general.
So, I thought Sket Dance is just a high school life sort of anime... the humour type ones so I wasn't interested in it at all at first. But once I gave it a try... I came to LOVE this series. >.<
This author is doing the expected unexpected. Very interesting. So you'd think that this kind of situation/character will be like this, they turn out to be different. So much for stereotypes. ♥ I really like how Sket Dan completes most requests given to them. You know how some shounen mangas just manage to screw up their missions/requests no matter what, Sket Dan actually completes them in a clever, sometimes down-to-earth, sometimes TOTALLY BRILLIANT way. I totally love them for this. ♥ ♥ And I love the characters too!! Bossun for one. I thought I wouldn't think of much of him, but he's so so so much love. I'm so rooting for this series. *clings to it*
From here on, DEFINITELY spoilers ahead.
Uh. Wow. That's... I mean. Unlike Gintama, who launches from TOTAL humor/crack to serious story in a beat, Sket Dance has always been quite serious (compared to Gintama, I mean). Like when they accept a request, they tackle the problems head on, even if it's funny in the process. And, I expected that the past of the 3 main characters are probably going to be tragic/sad, as it was hinted during the Pixie Garden battle, by Agata, so I really shouldn't be surprised when the chapter/episode "Switch Off" appeared. Yet. Still... SWITCH'S PAST IS SO HEART-BREAKINGLY SAD. *cries a river*
I suppose, maybe, some people might think that his past is a little cliche... but to me, it strikes a chord in me. Because in a way, Switch-kun died of the consequences of Kazuyoshi's jealousy. And oh god, if it was me, I will NEVER forgive myself for that. But I suppose life's made out of a lot of "If"s. No matter how much Kazuyoshi regrets it, it will never bring back Switch-kun......
That is, unless the author creates something like Dragon Balls for Kazuyoshi to collect and grand his wish. Damn you Shinohara-sensei, I'm crying and feeling sad over the past of a character you created. (Nothing new though. *coughs*) (can't wait till I reach Bossun and Himeko's past)
Conclusion. SKET DANCE BANZAI~~!!!
