Writer's Block: There Can Be Only One
Whether, it is in divorce, breaking up or cheating. Humans are not monogamous. The fact we are the only other species in a handful of animals in the animal kingdom that "try" to be monogamous. And I think that in the human species it's not possible. People tend to get bored with each other at some point in their lives.
I heard a story about a couple that had been with each other for 50 or 60 years and then the man said that the way he had gotten through that many years was because he cheated and the wife never found out. But then again if the wife would have found out, the marriage would have probably been over. I don't remember where I heard it.
Even back in the medieval times the church condoned prostitution because they were afraid that if a man had to only have sex to wife or had to wait until marriage that there would be adultery, rape, sodomy, and homosexuality.
SO bottom line: NO. Not even god thinks we are monogamous.
But can't say we don't try.
