... And no one else seems to be. -Sighs-
It's been a very quiet week for me.
Right shoulder/back still hurts, sometimes more, sometimes at a tolerable level. But either way it's pretty much consistent pain that does not respond to Aleve at all. >.< According to my checkup on Friday, I'm not supposed to use the sling anymore and they want me to start physical therapy. They're waiting on approval from Worker's Comp at the moment, and they'll call me to set up appointments as soon as they have it.
My temp agency tried offering me light duty work yesterday as a sign spinner. I decided to take an hour or so to think about it, since first of all, that requires about a quarter tank of gas and several hours of Brother's time. Showering pretty much convinced me it was a no. But I called the clinic anyway just to see what they thought, and they were like ' ... You have a two pound weight restriction.' To which I said 'Oh! I thought that was five.' (Which explains why I hurt after washing dishes yesterday. x.x) So I ended up telling them no, because a) waving a sign with one hand for six hours sounds like not the smartest idea, and b) the drive up there alone would put me in more pain.
They did explain that the sign was just laminated cardboard, but yeah. I'm still thinking it wasn't a good idea. Especially when it started raining barely an hour later.
Brother and I did some goofing off around after my checkup. I bought movies I shouldn't have (In my defense, they were cheap and I was replacing a few old VHS I can't watch anymore.), and browsed a few other stores. We saw Here Comes the Boom. It was cute. A little predictable and there was one scene that literally made me gag x.x, but otherwise a very sweet movie. And I like the soundtrack. ^_^
We watched our new movies on Saturday, but other than that I've mostly been sitting quietly in my room playing Sims3.
I like it, but I don't? There are certain aspects I like, but it's not as open-ended as the earlier versions were. I think they over-complicated the gameplay. It's more goal-oriented, which I like, but I miss being able to randomly play with whatever household I feel like. You still *can* do that, but it's not as easy as it was. >.O I think I prefer Sims2 and Sims Medieval, honestly. I still want the Supernatural and Pets expansions, though!
Fortunately/unfortunately, I've realized that sitting around the house in pain and bored means I have no real excuse *not* to attempt NaNo this year. I doubt I'll win - seeing as I never do >.< - but I can at least have fun trying, right? ^_^
I've decided to continue attempting the same story I was doing for CampNaNo, since I really love that one. And the characters keep poking at me lately. I've decided to try something different this year, though: I'm actually *reading* all the 'how to plot out your story' advice! I usually ignore it and go with a vague outline because I tend to suck at structured writing, but I figure I might as well try something different this year and see if it makes a difference. Why not, ne? It it works or it doesn't, either way hopefully I'll get something more written. For anyone who isn't already Writing Buddies with me or just wants to see what I'm working on, you can find me

For now I'm browsing the internets, saving writing advice and tools, listening to music, saving fanfics for reading later, and lamenting the loss of my RealPlayer download video option. I'm enjoying the quiet and time to relax, but at the same time? Damn, I miss working. -Sighs-
