The "Fandoms as Exes" Meme

It's amazing just how many uses this icon has.

Snagged from second_batgirl.

The one who seduced you, screwed you over, broke your heart in a million pieces, and laughed about it:

Gundam Wing. Maybe a little Sailormoon, 'cause my fic attempts in that fandom never received any reviews. In retrospect I get why, but it still hurt. But Gundam Wing was ... well.

Trying to sum up what happened, I wrote a fic a long time ago. It was a horrible fic (I was still fairly new to fanfiction and writing for someone other than myself), but I worked really hard on both it and its sequel, and damn it, it was mine. I had it posted on an archive site (not Fanfiction.net). Well, someone posted a fic that was a damn near copy of mine on the same site. They changed a couple of details, but other than that ...

I was pissed. At the person who wrote it, at the site owner who posted it and should have noticed, and just pissed in general. I haven't posted anything for Gundam Wing since. I almost abandoned fandom and fanfiction entirely, but the Power Rangers fandom slowly restored my faith.

I still write things for both fandoms occasionally, but they stay safely on my computer, most likely to never be posted.

The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp:

Seaquest. I grew up on the show, and I *adored* Lucas/Jonathan Brandis. I've never written for it - at least nothing worth posting anyway - but I still love to wander over for some ELF every once in awhile.

The mysterious dark one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 AM at weird coffee houses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized s/he really was fucking crazy:

-Grins- I'm gonna have to agree with second_batgirl on this one: the Harry Potter fandom is *insane*. I still read things, and I have thoughts of fics, but it's one of those things I really have to be in the mood for.

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor and whom you'd still really like to get with again, although you're relieved s/he doesn't actually live in town:

Uh ... maybe Batman Begins? There's like, one author who writes for it that I adore. That's really it.

The steady:

Power Rangers, obviously. There's some pretty awesome people around here. ♥

The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I love the fact that it manages to have family fluff and lots of dark subjects all at once. Unfortunately, I have a *really* hard time writing it. >.< Which makes me sad, because I have all sorts of fun thoughts about Raphael accidentally raising kids while everyone else is all o.O about it.

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with, but ultimately you're just good buddies:

Thunderbirds! I would *love* to write something epic for this, because there is SO MUCH FREAKIN' POTENTIAL. It just ... doesn't seem to happen for me. ;_; The closest I've gotten is my angsty one-shot about Scott, and my Thunderbirds/Harry Potter crossover. -Sulks-

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool person except it's never really gone anywhere:

Avatar: The Last Airbender. It totally sounds like my kind of thing, but I can never seem to get into it.

The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at them and thinking, "How the hell did they land all these cool people?"

Yeah, I'd say Supernatural, too. I'm sort of in that fandom myself (Yay for LimpSam and ProtectiveDean fics! :D), but there are seriously some *amazing* writers over there.

The one who gave you the best damned summer of your life and against whom you measure all other potential partners:

Power Rangers, seeing as it restored my faith and taught me what it could be like to actually be part of a *fandom*, and not just posting stories somewhere. Also somewhat Chronicles of Narnia, because they have some of the best Family Fluff and fight scenes.

The one you recently met at a party and would like to get to know better:

Maybe Star Wars, although I'm hesitant about it. They kind of strike me as an older, more mature version of the Harry Potter fandom. -Hides-

The old flame that you wouldn't totally object to hooking up with again for a one night romp if only they'd clean up a bit:

Probably Stargate SG-1. Loved the show, but lost track of it, so the fanfiction tends to confuse me now. But Jack/Daniel is still awesome. And hot. Definitely hot. And Supernatural, because unfortunately while I still love it, the fanfiction is starting to turn the way of the show in that it's all about the angels and apocalypse and Dean/Cas instead of Sam&Dean, so it's losing my interest. ;_;

Your hot new flame:

Detective Conan maybe, although the series isn't new. It's turning out to be a lot darker than I thought it would be, which I really should have expected. -Eyes show- But I'm not like, 'OMG CONAN!' about it right now; I just like to poke my head in once in awhile and see what's there.

The one who stole your significant other:

Avatar: The Last Airbender. -Eyes challon86 and rosabelle- Which is fun, seeing as I have no idea what they're talking about when they gush about it.
