The Cracktasticness of the Mega Battle Armor
I'm rewatching Quantum Secrets to research the Mega Battle Armor for the Bright Skies Chapter I'm working on. So far my reaction goes like this:
Akume: I will so never get over the fact that Eric's Battlizer has rollerblades.
phantom_blue: I KNOW, RIGHT?
phantom_blue: Rollerblades are totally practical battle gear
Akume: That's so ridiculously Cracktastic. I mean, of all people, *Eric*. With rollerblades.
Akume: EXACTLY!
Akume: -Snorts- Rollerblades with thrusters attached to them, no less. 'Cause that's not asking for trouble at ALL.
phantom_blue: You're just jealous you don't have super cool roller blades that will kill you
Akume: -Cracks up-
Akume: -Snorts- You know, he's not even standing up straight on them. He's actually leaning forward slightly. It's like he's holding his arms in the air while trying to figure out how the hell he's supposed to balance on the damn things.
phantom_blue: Poor Eric *giggles*
Akume: -Giggling hysterically- Is it bad that I'm totally imagining Eric thinking 'Rollerblades with thrusters and *wings*. WHO THE FUCK DESIGNED THIS ARMOR?!'
phantom_blue: Write this!
Akume: -Giggles more- So you think Eric secretly hates his Mega Battle Armor?
phantom_blue: Not so secretly
Akume: -Ponders- He doesn't actually use it a lot, does he?
Akume: Well, now we know why ...
Akume: -Cracks up- OMG this is the dumbest armor ever! I mean, seriously! Who puts a martial artist on skates in the middle of a fight?
phantom_blue: Someone desperate for entertainment?
Akume: I can't stop laughing!
phantom_blue: See?
Akume: He doesn't even stop right! He drops to one knee instead!
Akume: I can't remember this scene being nearly this entertaining the first time I watched it.
tsukino.andros: -Snorts- If he actually started blasting Krybots on those things like he's doing, he'd be sent rolling backwards.
phantom_blue: That's a fun image
Akume: -Shakes head- Flying rollerblades.
Akume: Oh, and I was wrong. He doesn't have wings. Those are actually his blasters.
Akume: Apparently he has magic hovering rollerblades.
Akume: -Snorts- And the blasters turn into a glowing laser sword that's bigger than he is.
In summary? Poor Eric. I don't know who designed that armor, but they probably weren't thinking of Eric when they did it.
