I'm really glad you questioned Eric's reaction to his father's revelation; it's given me more ideas for future prompts. -Grins- I'll do my best to explain why for you.

The reason I wrote the 'I love you' is because Bright Skies crosses over with Stargate SG-1 and the Stargate movie, and earlier Wes told Vanessa about Eric's younger brother who was accidentally killed. I figure that after losing his brother and later his own family, Eric would try just a little harder to forgive his father, and stay close to what family he has left.

-Laughs- Don't lose hope! There's quite a ways to go in this story yet, and I'm a sucker for happy endings. ^_~

Oh I love this. Eric's break down is perfect. It really FEELS like it's been a long time coming, so the force of it makes a LOT of sense. And I know others have said it, but Gracie is awesome. (I think she's my very favorite OC!)

Also, OMG you threw in Jack/Daniel-ness! These two are one of my two ultimate OTP's! (They're in a tie with John and Rodney. ^_^) Thank you!

Oh my. Poor Eric! Please don't let that one opportunity between them be the last one for them to salavage something. If its taken Eric this long to think about moving on than he likely needed the breakdown of tearing everything apart.
