Irrationally Rational: Choices (Multi-Fandom Crossover, K+)

Feb 07, 2010 16:56

So ... I have no idea where I'm going with this. I started planning things out around 4:30 this morning, and eventually wrote the first chapter in about two hours. Feel free to offer plot suggestions and requests.

Seriously.

Author/: Tsukino Akume
Fandom/: Power Rangers/Supernatural/Charmed/Thunderbirds/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Chronicles of Narnia
Pairings/: Leo/Kai
Rating/: K+ (For now; may change in the future)
Disclaimer/: If I owned all of these fandoms, I and all my descendents would be living quite comfortably. Obviously I don't, as I currently live in an apartment and am forced to share a bedroom with my brother.
Summary/: He said they'd been chosen for a reason. He said they would fulfill his need for revenge, and then change the world. He said he'd given them a choice. He lied.
Warnings/: Non-cannon versions of most characters (Specifically Bright Skies AU Rangers), mentions of a Charmed OC (kinda) and future semi-AU Power of Three. Movie 'verse Thunderbirds and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Elements of Movie and Book 'verses for Chronicles of Narnia.
Author's Notes/: So, this idea has been floating around in my brain for awhile. Not so much the plot, which occurred to me as I began planning seriously, but the crossover in general. Then I woke up this morning and decided to give it a chance. This was written entirely for self-gratification, and I can't find the will to care.

I swear I don't have an obsession with evil Rangers. Really.

Ages/time periods/accents/names are to be explained eventually. For now, just go with it. Requests for pairings/situations/bonding moments/ect. are both welcome and encouraged, although I can't guarantee I will for sure use them.

Enjoy!

He didn't want to be here.

"You have a choice, of course," the voice informed him.

Everything had happened so fast ... One moment he was at home, exploring the woods away from the village, the next he was here. He'd barely gotten an explanation as to what was happening before he was given a choice.

"Of course ... You know what will happen if you refuse."

A choice that wasn't a choice at all.

"I'll do it," he forced out hoarsely, throat tight.

"I knew you'd see things my way."

Forgive me, Kai.

"Why would you even think I'd agree to this?" he demanded. "In what sick, twisted world would I *ever* - ".

"Because I can give you what you want."

He snorted in disbelief. "And what could you possibly have that I would want?"

"A way to save your brother from his fate."

He froze.

"I see I have your attention."

He swallowed hard, hope and fear rising in equal measure. "I'm listening."

They eyed him as he paced the room. One of them had no idea what to make of him; he'd never seen anything like it before. But he wouldn't allow himself to show that he was afraid. The other was more confident in what he was facing, but uncertain as to why he was here, let alone the other. He worried that the boy was here because of him. He couldn't let anything happen to an innocent.

"The two of you present an interesting problem for me," the creature informed them casually, pacing the room. "You see, it took a great deal of effort and energy to bring the you both here. And I dislike wasting energy."

The pair exchanged a glance behind his back, the younger rolling his eyes and rolling his hand in a 'hurry it up' gesture. The other fought back a smirk.

"So I've come up with a proposition for you." He turned, smirking coldly at the older one. "For you, if you chose not to join me, well ... " His smile widened. "You're ... how old in this time? Three, four? That's an awfully ... impressionable time, don't you think?"

The man's eyes widened. "You're willing to mess with the fabric of time for this? Do you have any *idea* how much damage you could do?!"

"You say that as if I care," he dismissed, turning attention to the younger one. "As for you, well. I could threaten you, or your family. But that would be a waste of my time. As it turns out, if you refuse, he has a brother of his own who would easily fill your place." He nodded to the elder, openly grinning as his eyes widened in horror.

The younger stared at his companion for several minutes before at last swallowing hard. He couldn't condemn another person in his place. He wouldn't. "I'll do it," he said quietly.

"And you?"

The older looked torn and relieved at the same time, still staring at the younger boy. "I'll do it," he echoed as guilt swelled.

They hadn't known what to make of any of this at first. One was surprised by the other, anger flickering briefly through his eyes before settling into resentment. The other in return had been mildly startled, then indifferent. They both watched their captor as he spoke, studying him warily for any signs of weakness.

"I have brought you both here for an opportunity. A chance to start over, away from ... other influences. Here, you can be free to be who you truly are. To do what you were meant to do."

"And what's that?" one demanded irritably in a thick accent.

"Change the world, of course."

The first scowled, while the other raised his eyebrows. "And how do you propose we do that?" he asked. His accent, while different, was equally as thick as the first.

"Join me," he urged. "Once we've punished those who betrayed me, we will take this world by storm, make it into something better. A world where people of your ... unique circumstances, can live freely, without the need to hide who and what you truly are." He leaned forward, offering a smile that came across as creepier than it was most likely intended to be. "We can make this into a world you can be proud of."

Neither glanced at their companion, but the same thought flashed through their minds.

"I'm in," the first said quickly.

The second nodded shortly. "And me."

"I have brought you here for a reason," he informed them all as he paced the room. "Originally, I sought to destroy the ones who foiled me once. Which is how I found you." He paused to eye the pair he'd brought from the future. "When I saw what could be, I learned how to travel backward into what has been." Again his gaze moved, now to the pair from the past. "I combed through time for the perfect combination. And I realized it was the six of you I needed.

"Each of you possess certain skills that makes you invaluable." His eyes flickered over them again. "A knight. A ninja. A hunter. A hero. A pilot. And a witch who knows the flow of time better than even myself. You come from past, present, and future. You are the perfect balance to each other, even greater than you know. Together ... " He leaned forward, smiling unpleasantly. "Together we will be invincible."

He headed to the door then, silently dismissing them. "Make yourselves comfortable, and get to know one another. We'll be together for some time."

"So what do we call you?" the one labeled witch interrupted, eyes narrowing.

He paused in the doorway. "You may call me Thrax."

And then he was gone.

They surveyed one another warily. Two were obviously teenagers, three more clearly older. The last was harder to identify, but the narrowed slant of his eyes warned them all not to question him.

"Looks like we're all in this together," the hunter offered finally. "I'm Sam."

The hero managed a weary, half-hearted attempt at a smile. "Leo."

"Alan," the pilot spoke up.

"Chris," the witch sighed after a moment, looking reluctant.

The ninja sighed too. "Donnie," he grumbled after a pause, in a thick Brooklyn accent.

The last boy, the one Thrax had called the knight, looked over them all with a strangely mature gaze. "Peter," he said simply. His voice was young, barely breaking, but clearly British.

They looked at one another, gazes solemn. "This is gonna suck, isn't it?" Donnie asked bluntly.

Sam looked wry. "I'm thinking that would be a given."

"Oh, yay," Alan muttered under his breath.
