HUGS FOR EVERYONE
I miss the days when public displays of affection were cool.
Case in point: In MMPR, the team hugs ALL THE TIME. The girls hug their guys, Jason and Tommy hug, Zack even kisses Jason on the cheek. (Spawning a small faction of Jason/Zack fans, but that's beside the point.) They were friends, they loved each other, and they weren't afraid to say it. Even the other kiss scenes on the show were between Tommy and Kim in Tommy's White days.
After MMPR, there are a few girls who will hug their teammates. Ashley hugs people. Zhane and Andros hug twice. There's a few arms around the shoulder in Ninja Storm, and I think maybe every once in a great while in Wild Force. Oh, and Trip was very huggy in Time Force, but the only ones who ever really hugged him back were Katie and Wes. (Which makes me believe he may have been affection starved, but that's neither here nor there.) And Wes hugs everybody goodbye at the end of the season, but when he finally gets to see them again, the only person he hugs is Trip, while Jen's hugging Katie.
There are family hugs once in awhile. Leo hugs Mike every time he miraculously comes back from the dead, which he can obviously be forgiven for. Andrew hugged Mack. Z hugged Jack. I think there may have been hugs among the Mitchells, but Lightspeed is not one of my stronger seasons.
Any thoughts on the ones I'm missing? And what happened to all the hugs?!
... I may be proposing a semi-challenge to write a hugging and/or kissing fic. Namely between non-romantically involved characters. Would anyone else be interested?
