I was watching a different series earlier this week when one of its characters said "Kono kehai ga...."! I was all "Drink!" and D had no idea what I was talking about.
Yet ANOTHER filler ep. Gah, I have no problem with filler eps, they perform a necessary function when sprinkled throughout the series, allowing both characters and audiences to adjust to new plot twists and reaffirm certain relationships. But there’s a time and a place for them, and six episodes away from the series finale is - not - it. Many anime writers have a terrible knack for this timing, and Clamp is among them. I remember when Cardcaptors was nearing its end on the WB, and it was made widely known that the finale would be on the Friday of that week. Knowing that just four episodes lay between now and then, I eagerly turned on the TV, desperate to see what new twist would occur… and watched Sakura and the gang on a ski trip instead. To say I was ready to bit a hole in one of my couch cushions was an understatement
