Ah, the comical interlude of season 3. It’s silly, but at least it’s fun. And it’s probably the only justification Sakura has for feeling like she’s at all ‘close’ to Yue, because their time together is certainly limited.

(as I watch)

So many times that Sakura never bothers to call Yue out on these missions, so why this time when the threat hadn’t even officially presented itself? And why did Yue accompany Sakura to her home if he was just planning on switching back to Yukito anyway?

I think I enjoy this episode more for the brotherly dynamic between Kero and Yue than anything regarding their relationship with Sakura. Yue: the perfect older brother who always thinks things through first, then rolls his eyes when his brother does something stupid. Kero: the fun-loving young one who’s plenty sick of Yue always being the perfect one. Reminds me of Touya and Sakura, a little. No wonder Yue likes Touya so much. When I watch this episode, I think about all the time Kero had for living alone with Sakura in her room, and I think he developed a taste for being the ‘only child’.

Did Sakura just change clothes right in front of Yue, or what?

That unerring precision with which Kero speared those cookies has me thinking that he practiced that move a lot back in Clow’s day.

Yeah, Kero’s family and Yue’s company. I don’t blame Sakura’s nerves for failing her. And even if housewife Yue would have been funny, I think Kero’s temper tantrum as he rants about Yue’s special treatment (not for the first time in their lives, I’m sure) is pretty funny too. I’m also quite sure that Yue wouldn’t mind helping at all, but I think he likes to stand there, stone-faced, just because it’s funny to watch Kero work himself into a rage.

Poor, poor Yukito. If there was ever a time to explain things to him so he wouldn’t freak out he was losing his mind, this was it.
