CLOW

Why didn't you write about Yue at all? I mean, I'm sure the logical argument is that he didn't want the future candidate to know what to expect, but still!

...So this was the episode where Child Me stopped giving a lotta clucks about the rest of the series. I loved it, and I continued to love ti after, but once Yue shoewed up? I would be a little disappointed when I turned on the TV at 4:30 to find Yue wasn't in that days episode

...Yue. your clothes. JFC your clothes I will rant about them to no end. I am 100% convinced now that the "lapels" on his jacket are actually armor, and his concept sketches show that a lot mroe plainly, but Uhhh...what is even suppose to be going on with his clothes in the anime?

And I will never understand the mechanics of his shawl. Ever.

...But I can ignore that as we get a No Holds Barred Beatdown of Yue kicking the asses of small children

~~~
And now for what bugs the hell out of me, and pisses me off. THe disaster that will befall this world. Losing the feelings for the one you love most. And who does Sakura love most?
Her god damn Mother bleedping childhood CRUSH. I actually find this really, really disgusting. You're 10 and you love your crush more than your best friend, your father, your brother? I just am really, HONESTLY sickened by CLAMP and their obsession with romantic love being the only love that really matters. I watch this episode and I'm like...ok, on one hand, when you're 10, you feel all emotions in BIG doses, and your childhood crush DOES feel the most important thing to you. But Clow's spell was to hurt. It was to take the thing that would rip the most out of your life. So. Sakura. You would hurt less if you lost any emotion for your best friend or your father? And if it WAS SPECIFICALLY WRITTEN BY CLOW/CLAMP to mean the one you love most ROMANTICALLY, then fuck you. Because Sakura is TEN YEARS OLD. Tomoyo is TEN YEARS OLD. If you ask me, this episode should have been, COULD have been a major breakthrough in Sakuras character, to realize there are people in her life she is closer to and loves MORE than beyond a childish fascination. Seeing her family in her dream INSTERAD of perfect little Yuki would have been a big Growing Up point for her!
...and once again I tip my hat to Nelvana.
"I answer only to Clow Reed himself"
Is such a better line than
"Only Clow Reed can defeat me"
aaand I don't have time for more ranting atm but believe me. I will be back
Yeah, honestly, the loss of her family love (and not just hers for them, but theirs for her as well), would/should have been much more devastating. I hated this being the "disaster" anyway, but for YukiSue to be more important to her than her FAMILY also pisses me off.
I wonder who Touya forgot, Kaho or his mommy?
I have always been under the impression that Touya forgot Sakura, because he doesn't tease her when she comes down the stairs in the post-catastrophe vision.
My comment was tongue-in-cheek, but that's an interesting interpretation. I never got that, but I think the "disaster" sequence is somehow both heavy-handed and badly done. It seems to me like he's concerned about her when he meets her outside school, but I don't know if that's intentional. I'm also not sure what's supposed to be going on with Syaoran--not just because he's there, but the look he gives her from the soccer field: did he forget whatever feelings were developing for her, is he concerned about her, does he sense something wrong, too (or if this is just a dream, would she want him to sense something wrong so she doesn't feel alone in it)?
