A/N: Please forgive my tardiness, and I do hope you enjoy receiving this as I have enjoyed giving it.
This is set some time after Touya and Yukito goes to college - I have touched upon it briefly in another (old) story, which I shall republish much later.

The soft sounds of fluttering wings and the dark shadow looming over the large window alerted Touya to his otherwordly companion's presence. He didn't even blink at the sight, clearing the dining table of the college books he had been perusing, and watching with curious amusement as the ethereal being lifted the heavy window up with a flick of his long, elegant finger and flew in, gracefully maneuvering himself until he stood at the centre of the small living room, as was his wont. (Touya wonders, at times, of how many years it must have taken Yue to perfect this without knocking over anything with either hair or wing.)
"Hello, Yue," he greeted simply, as if this otherwise remarkable, miraculous appearance (to any other person, that is) is an everyday occurance - which in a way, it is. Even as he walked over to join the other, he'd noticed the medium-sized, discreetly wrapped package floating just behind the Moon Guardian, and it made him actually blink in surprise.
"Is this why Yuki just up and went for your errand this noon?" he asked with genuine curiosity. He had, truthfully, been alarmed when Yukito suddenly announced, out of the blue, that he was going on an errand on his other self's behalf as they got back from their respective classes - alarm that stemmed from the fact that his younger sister is the owner of powerful elemental Cards and Guardians, and there would be people who might be coverting such powers. Despite his questions, Yukito had simply smiled serenely, even a little mischeviously, and gave him a lingering kiss before departing in a flurry of silver feathers. Yue, on the other hand, had some decency to at least allay his fears with a slight quirk of his lips and a reassuring nod as he flew off. (Just to be sure, Touya had called home, and Sakura's laughing voice as she answered assured him so that he was able to remind her "not to finish off Santa's cookies, kaijuu", to her indignant cries of protest.)
Just to tease the Guardian, he made as if to touch the package, and was immediately thwarted by a swift - though gentle - swat of a wing. "You should at least be polite and ask first before touching another's belongings," Yue remarked coolly as the silvery appendages disappeared beneath his voluminous hair.
Touya grinned, unrepentant. "So, I'm supposed to ask for permission?" He drew closer, leaned next to the other's ear as he breathed, "May I be allowed to touch it then?"
His grin widened as he felt the minute shiver of shimmering moonlight hair on his cheek. "Tease," Yue whispered as he pulled back and pluck the package from the air, handing it to Touya with some flourish. Touya blinked again, knowing that he and Yukito had already exchanged gifts this morning before classes start.
Yue saw the question in Touya's expression. "It is a personal gift, from me. This is a gesture of my first Christmas acknowledgement in... years."
Touya nodded solemnly, all traces of mischief gone, not needing any explanation to what Yue had meant. He accepted the parcel gravely, running his hand through the neat wrapping, before sitting down cross-legged on the floor to carefully open his Christmas gift.
His eyes widened slightly when the content was finally revealed - an ancient, leather-bound, still-in-good-condition authentic copy of a medical journal he had once noted in passing to Yukito, expressing his desire to see what the records would actually look like. To think that the Guardian had actually taken the trouble to locate and acquire it, when such manuscripts are rare and much sought after... He was immensely touched and grateful. Reverently flipping through the early pages, he then raised his head to gaze into the amethyst eyes of his partner, his face clearly communicating what words failed to achieve.
Yue, who had knelt down in front of the younger man to gauge his reaction, smiled tentatively, almost hesitantly, pleased with the response of Touya's obvious delight and gratitude. "I am glad to see you enjoy this gift," he said quietly.
Touya's joyful gaze suddenly became more intense as he took in the sight of the beautiful Guardian created by his father's previous half-incarnation, sitting primly Japanese-style, his upper body leaning towards him as he shared in the joy of giving a present to someone meaningful after so long. He had not prepared anything for Yue, not knowing whether he wished to join in the celebration or content to experience it through his other self - and Touya could not bear to merely be the receiver of such a priceless gift. Wrapping back the fair-sized tome lovingly and placing it away to be stored later, with the amethyst eyes following every move, he turned towards the Guardian and slowly lift a hand to brush away errant strands of silver from the delicate face.
"Thank you," he spoke seriously, staring straight into the other's eyes. "For coming into existence, for allowing yourself to experience human emotions, the joys and the sorrows, the love and the pain... for coming into my life and willing to risk such heartbreak again. I love you, all of you, both of you. And I know I can't promise the world, I'm not a powerful magician. But I can promise this - that for as long as I'm alive, I will continue to love you as you are, as you deserve to be loved. And that you won't have any regrets about us, that this will be as good a memory as we make it to be. I swear this on Clow's and Sakura's name."
Yue had gone stock-still at the blunt, honest speech, though his initial shock had been replaced by astoundment, and gradual realisation of the younger man's sincerity and unshakeable vow. He did not even blink during the words, and Touya took the opportunity to seal his vow - his personal gift - by closing the gap between them and kissing him softly on the lips.
Yue's eyes fluttered closed as the kiss registered, receiving and savouring the gift of present, willing to leave his past as that - his past. As they broke apart, he unconsciously touched his lips and smiled, a small one, but genuine nonetheless. "I shall hold you to that."
