Fairy Tale

Disclaimer: Card Captor Sakura belongs to CLAMP, not me, and I make no money from this work of fanfiction at all. Beware- OOC.

“Once upon a time, in a far away land, there was a king and queen who wanted, more than anything, for a child to be born unto them. They prayed and prayed, and finally their wish was granted. A daughter was given to them, and they named her-“

”I didn’t think you liked this story. You thought the part you played was insulting.”

“I do like this one. Where was I? Oh, yes- she was perfect in every way. Everyone loved her. To celebrate, the king and queen invited everyone they could. However, there was one person they forgo sending an invitation to, because-“

”I know this part. She was the wicked fairy.”

“Anyways, she crashed the party, because she had wanted to come to see this new child that everyone loved, and thought the king and queen had been very mean to not invite her at all. So, when they refused to let her see the baby girl-“

”She put a curse on her!”

“And the other fairies interfered. The smallest offered to change the christening spell to one where she would sleep for a hundred years, to be awakened by a prince’s kiss. The king then ordered that all the spinning wheels in the country be burned. That was really stupid because it made making clothing REALLY hard-“

”Tee-hee...”

“And the kingdom lived for the next fifteen years. As the princess’ sixteenth birthday drew near, the King and Queen planned a huge party. They thought, as there was no sign of the evil fairy, that the curse would not come to pass. The kingdom rejoiced. But on the eve of her birthday, the princess thought she heard a noise. She went out and found a young girl sitting on her steps, who was crying.”

“Huh? I don’t remember that part-“

”I’m telling this story, remember? Okay, the crying girl looked up at the princess, and said, ‘Your Highness, I am afraid that something bad is to happen to you this night. I wished it was otherwise, but I must take you where you must go. It is your destiny.’
The princess did not wish to see this girl crying, so she took her hand. ‘Whatever destiny I must meet, I am ready for it, for I do not wish to see you cry any more. Please, take me there.’
The crying girl, who had been a servant and friend to the princess her whole life, looked surprised, but took her by the hand, and they walked together to the tower. There, they ascended the stairs- and a wheel for spinning was lodged into the corner.”

“NOW its back to the original!”

“Hush, its still my story. The servant girl sat by the wheel, and looked up at the princess. ‘I did not want this to happen, please remember that always. The curse was not meant to be like this.’
The princess didn’t answer, but pricked her finger on the spinning wheel, and fell into the evil fairy’s arms, who had been in the guise of the young girl.
The small fairy arrived, who had changed the curse, and took the princess away, and made the entire castle sleep.”

“This isn’t making much sense anymore...”

“It will at the end. Promise. So, the evil fairy put a massive hedge of thorns around the castle to keep people out.
Bye the way- do you like the tea? -
The years rolled by, until a handsome prince appeared.”

“The tea is delicious, I’ve never tried it before. Did you bring it from Hong Kong?”

“Yes. To go on- the prince made his valiant way to the princess, hacking and chopping, but when he got to the gate, he found it was barred. The evil fairy stood in his way. He challenged her- but she refused to move aside.”

“This story is getting really weird... and I didn’t notice it before, but this tea leaves a strange aftertaste in my mouth.”

“Like I said, it will make sense soon. ‘Brave prince- you have fought long and hard, but I cannot allow you to enter. No one shall awaken this princess, because she is mine forever and ever.’ She then used her powers to make him sleep as well, putting him next to her princess. Together they slept. The end.”

“I thought you said that... I’m not feeling so good... what was in this tea?”

“Just a little something I found in the library. Don’t worry, I drank it too. Soon, we’ll be dreaming.”

“What- what are you talking about?”

“This was the only way I could keep you... I’m that evil fairy, remember? All she wanted was to keep the princess, but the small fairy stopped her. The evil one couldn’t let anyone else have the princess, you see. Not the prince, not her family. The princess understood that, and let herself be cursed.”

“Meilin...”

“It’s all right, Sakura. Soon, we can sleep and dream. Happily ever after.”

Any brain damage and/or murderous/suicidal thoughts are your own problem after reading.
