Rating: G
Summary: Sakura returns home in the middle of the night.

Ohhhh, no!

Sakura, peering into her room from the half-opened window, could hear her internal thoughts screaming and shrieking panic. Panic because, one, she was freezing in this winter weather. Two, apparently Mirror had fallen asleep. Sometime within that action, she had forgotten to keep her Sakura-image on. Sure, she was a beautiful creature with a gorgeous face and silk-smooth hair, but donning her Sakura-illusion would have given Sakura less manic spells to go through. Which finally came to three: the door to her room had opened and her brother was sneaking in.

"Why would he do that?" she groaned. "Why would he choose to do that tonight, of all nights?!"

"He checks up on you," Kero stated in a deadpanned voice. "Oh, well. It was a good run, wasn't it?"

She shook her head, streams of tears running down her face. "Nothing even happened toniiiighhhttt," she whined in as soft of a voice as she could. "How am I going to explain this to him?!"

"We can-"

"There is no 'we!' There is only ME and now MIRROR and Touya who is going to kill ME!" she whispered angrily, glaring at Kero. (It technically wasn't his fault, but she REAAALLLY needed to find someone to blame at this moment.) And it was cold outside. She was shivering, it was snowing, and nothing at the moment was making this situation better.

"We, we can still-"

Suddenly, he stopped talking and Sakura could see why. Touya was standing next to the bed. He didn't look angry. He didn't look surprised. He didn't look sad. He... he... NO.

Was that a smile? And was he leaning in closer to Mirror?

Wait, not a big smile. A small one that was pretty much just playing on his lips, but enough for his little sister (who was hiding outside of the window) to see. He then bent down slightly, placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, and said, "Thanks for the Christmas cookies. They were better than anything I tried yesterday from my sister. I don't know how poison is supposed to taste, but I'm sure she came very close, if she wasn't completely dead on."

"My cookies?! Poison?! Why, you... I'll show YOU a Christmas cookie, you-!"

Sakura deftly clasped a hand over the stuffed animal's mouth. (Yes, he had made those cookies. And tried his best, he did!)

By the time she turned to look back on this surprising twist of events, he had already finished giving Mirror a quick peck on her cheek and closed the door behind him when he left Sakura's room.

Sakura silently sat on the roof for about a minute. After another minute passed, she remembered to release Kero to prevent suffocation. After a third of silently ignoring the small guy's rants, she stood up, and opened the rest of the window up, crawling back into her room.

"Okay, you have a LOT of explaining to do."

And even though the room was dark, a lamp post right outside her house gave enough light to show the small blush growing on her card's cheeks.
