It`s hard to imagine it`s actually Thanksgiving back in the US, so I don`t seem to be getting homesick, which is good. Here, no one knows of Thanksgiving- but I`ve sucessfully explained it to Daiju- telling him the basics-where it came from and what we do now. He replied back saying that he really wanted to eat a feast, but today`s fast food (which I suspect is because he has cram school today- and when he has that, it`s from like 6-11, or something) and then asked if hamburgers counted as a feast. I told him no, but we eat turkey, so chicken is ok~
Anyway, my day was pretty slow today- we had the day off, but because it`s some sort of Labor day holiday- I ended up waking up around 11:45 which surprised me- guess I really was tired. Then studied 敬語 for the first time and spent most of the day working on it (which doesn`t mean I did a lot- I took lots of breaks)...敬語confuses the hell out of me...(also asked Daiju about it- asking if highschool kids really used it and he said yup, they use it. `Cause his band is like the only highschool band at their concerts and stuff, in the beginning they always talked to the other bands(who are adults) in 敬語, but now, he said, they can talk in the plain form *insert wink face*) If anyone`s got a good interenet link explaining 敬語 I`d really appreciate any more study materials I can get on it- as long as I don`t have to download anything, that is.
