i hope your apple pie is freakin' worth it! (pt 2)

ladies and gentlemen, we have achieved pie. *\o/*

by which i mean i can't tell if it's any good or not because i can't get into it yet, but it looks fine, altho the top crust collapsed but i think that's normal, and the top crust also broke but that's because i didn't take it out of the tinfoil pie plate soon enough, and of the filling leaked out, but it definitely looks like a homemade pie and the crust is nice and brown (if broken in places). also the filling is sweet. but appropriately goopy.

the only thing is? the recipe is for a 10" pie (and my glass pie baking dish is 10") and the shell i bought is for a 9" pie. so i have extra filling. which is now baking in the oven because i'm curious what apple pie filling tastes like outside the pie. and it's kind of a waste of good apples. i think next time i might be ambitious enough to buy a mix and make the crust, so at least it will be the right size.

oh, by the way? peeling and coring and cutting up three pounds of apples is not the most fun i've ever had with my clothes on.

but i did i mention i have achieved pie? and didn't burn it? :D and think it might actually taste ok?
