i thought this was supposed to be EASY

yesterday i braved the pre-xmas wilds of microcenter (helpful salespeople, very slow checkout lines) (THREE registers open. THREE) to get a wireless router, now that my modem is in the dining room and my desk is in the spare bedroom and i don't want to be trailing ethernet cable everywhere. last night it wouldn't connect to the internet, this morning it wouldn't connect to the laptop, and then i managed to get it up and running (wireless! yay! *\o/* ), but in the process of trying to set a password i seem to have lost the connection. and now there's a network floating around that no one can connect to, even me, even tho it's my network. >.< i may have to run the setup again.

hey, at least i know it works. well, worked. once.
