i am clearly back to being myself because it's past one and i haven't gotten the mail or done anything remotely productive at work besides read lj and answer email and admire some screenshots of tony curran in beowulf and grendel [1]. and my boss should be back in an hour or so and i have stuff on my desk to do that he'll need to see. >.< (and i knew i wasn't quite myself last night because a. i downloaded supernatural 2x07 (the usual suspects) and didn't watch it, b. i didn't read lj, and c. i went to bed at midnight. on the other hand, i sorted out all the mail that came while i was gone, which is something.)

mail call:

from byrne - adagio, her new book, which is dedicated to me. O.O i remember when it was a nanonovel and it made me cry at work. (that was a bad year for nanonovels. i spent some quality time posting comments like "this made me cry at work and i can't read it any more" and then having to finish reading anyway. that might've been the year i wrote sam and aurelian which didn't make anyone cry because there wasn't any angst. just vampire smut. :> ) anyway. you can get your very own copy here. and did i mention it's dedicated to me and that's kind of baffling and kind of *glee*?

also i got touching evil by rob knight, which i won in the torquere press halloween chat. i never win anything, and it looks good, so i'm excited. and you can get that here. :>

and i got a card from melissamaxwell, who always sends really pretty cards and then i feel like a horrible person because i'm a crap-ass correspondent. >.< i owe you like three letters now, hon. i suck. and of course i remember you! :>

and now i should probably pick up the mail and get an iced tea so i can eat lunch, and oh yeah, i have work to do before the boss gets back.

[1] if anyone is stuck for something to get me for my birthday, i'd like a movie in which tony DOES NOT DIE that isn't the 13th warrior (because i already have it) or league of extraordinary gentlemen (because it's a stupid movie and you can't even seen him in most of it because he plays the invisible man). he even bites it in the one tv show i've seen him in, and that's just not right.

work, tony curran, mail love
