is it wrong that i get thrown out of a fic with the first misuse of "its" or "it's"? it could be a perfectly good fic but i can't read past the first mistake. i don't even think it's a typo any more, i think it's that someone doesn't know the difference. also? if you have a beta, and we know you have a beta because you thank them publicly, and your fic is still rife with these grammar mistakes? your beta ain't doing all of her (or his) job. seriously, people, look it up. it's = it is. its = possessive, ie "something belonging to it." if you split "it's" into "it is" and the sentence doesn't make sense, you're using it wrong. live it, love it, LEARN IT.

ok, so i'm assuming everyone reading this knows the difference, and i'm preaching to the choir.... i'm honestly not talking to anyone specific on my flist. i'll totally cut you slack for confusing its and it's in a random lj entry. people type fast or just not well, typos happen, no big deal. but in something you want to look reasonably polished, and which has passed a fresh pair of eyes besides yours? ain't no excuse.

i want a cupcake. or a chocolate doughnut. hm. also i hate my hair but i can't make an appointment to get it cut because the salon is closed on mondays. *sigh* also it's hot in the office. *turns up the a/c* *turns off the overhead lights* also also... uh... *thinks* did i forget to do something internetty? i read so swiftly the madness came. i hate feeling like i forgot to do something. i need to start writing shit down.
oh! i remember! i need to find a projector of some stripe that i can hook up to a laptop to project a slideshow, probably powerpoint and possibly running continuously. what exactly am i looking for? where in general terms can i rent something like that? CAN i rent one in the first place? i'll only need it for a day. i'm guessing it'll need to connect to a dell laptop and not a mac, but i don't know. how much does the platform matter?
