a. anthony bourdain's book the nasty bits is dedicated "to joey, johnny, and dee dee" - please tell me he dedicated a book of food essays to (most of) the ramones. i love that. ^_^
b. the post office must be having customer appreciation day because there were cookies and wee juice boxes and a coffee urn in there today. the juice boxes just made me wonder if john winchester gave them to his kids when they were wee, or if they grew up drinking soda. and milk, i guess. which then made me think of one of the episodes i made ruth watch in belfast, i can't remember which one it was but there was food because she said - about dean - "he has to eat something green or all his teeth will fall out" which made me giggle. and then that makes me think of the bit in wendigo when you find out his idea of camping provisions is a big bag of m&m's. it's a losing proposition, really.
b2. the wee juice boxes also made me think of francis black at, say, five years old, because you just know nash will let him drink anything he wants, nutritional value be damned. no doubt megan and daniel spend a lot of francis' childhood trying to fix the damage they think nash is doing to him. neil is pretty sure they don't have to worry, and will a pepsi really kill the kid?
c. it seems to be spring-almost-summer. as in, i should probably switch the flannel duvet cover for something in a nice light cotton. and maybe bring my fan up from the basement.
d. i got a ficathon prompt for myself - it can't rain all the time, by jane siberry, from the crow soundtrack - and even have an idea for it. yay. :> (which i may or may not submit to my writing group for next week, since it's my turn to turn something in....) i notice some people have started posting bits and notes and drafts and etc, which is really cool. please don't be upset if i don't read them - i think i want to be surprised when you're all done. unless you have issues and need guidance, in which case i am happy to provide.
e. my radio station is broadcasting forty days commercial-free. o.O it's sponsored by snapple, so every so often you get "forty days and forty nights commercial free, brought to you by snapple, made from the best stuff on earth," which is itself a commercial. altho a month and a half without ads for bob's discount furniture is never a bad thing. (you boston-area people know what i'm talking about. i HATE those commercials. they make me change the station.)
