What I just finished reading:
jewish futures which i mostly enjoyed. i didn't love the non-trivial number of stories that depended on a certain amount of "jews as a wildly discriminated-against people" - are there seriously no other ways to write about jews in space besides "everyone on earth hated us and wanted us dead so we had to escape to another planet"? - but in any anthology there's always going to be something that just doesn't grab you. and there were a bunch of stories i did like, so.

also the woman in the woods and other north american stories, a comics anthology i got because the publisher was having a sale. north american folktales, all written and drawn by indigenous folks. good stuff.

What I am reading now:
a memory called empire, by arkady martine, which is scifi with political intrigue which isn't totally my thing but i really like it so far. there's some fantastic worldbuilding and a curious mystery and if i like it enough there's even a sequel.

What I'm going to read next:
i've got the girl who married a skull and other african stories (same series as the woman in the woods as you can probably guess) and i might still read the tree of swords and jewels and i have a couple kickstarted graphic novels that should be coming *waves vaguely* eventually, but i don't know what specifically is next.

yesterday cheetolini and eighteen of his friends were indicted on forty-one charges related to january 6 including racketeering and conspiracy. couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of seditionists.

if you're on tumblr and you remember goncharov from last year, it's back. ish. by which i mean a woman on tiktok tried to encourage lore and fannish engagement around a fake 80s horror movie called zepotha. she may or may not have done this purely as marketing for her upcoming album. (i'm not on tiktok at all but i'd hazard a guess tumblr did it better.)

tiktok, tumblr, wednesday reading meme, donald trump, schadenfreude is so delicious
