o my flist, it was SO NICE OUT TODAY. SO NICE. i met
tamalinn and friend a for burritos and a long walk (friend a, as we're waiting in line at the taqueria: "i'm not a burrito person." me: *GASP!*) (she's entitled to her opinion even tho that opinion is wrong) and i didn't wear the appropriate shoes and ended up with blisters on the bottoms of my feet. >.< that's what you get for not wearing walking shoes to walk in, self. on the other hand, i got exercise and sun (and a carnitas burrito :D ) and it's not the first time i've worn the wrong shoes, so i'm ok with it. and then i bought cookies and a large iced tea and sat in the sun for a while because i didn't want to go home yet - did i mention it was SO NICE OUT? - but my feet hurt too much to take another walk. so overall it was a good day.
(day off for president's day. i do love a random free monday.)
last night after curling, when we were all sitting around drinking, i had the worst craving for a burrito. i wasn't even hungry - i curled at 8:30 and it was at least 10:45 by this point - have i mentioned how much i hate the 8:30 draw? - but i could TASTE it. so one of the things on my to do list for today was "get a burrito for lunch". which is why we did. :D
other things on the to do list for today were "clean the bathroom" and "work on the bang", neither of which i've done. i did however write 2300 words or something for the bang yesterday, so it's not a massive problem that i haven't written any more of it today. (altho i would like to get to 5k.) on the other hand i have a title and i know how it ends, which puts me ahead of where i was this time last year, so go me. i mean, i actually know what the story is. the bathroom may have to wait until friday, when i'm working from home and will probably have some downtime.
on saturday i was going to get my comics and have lunch at clover (and no doubt whine that they don't seem to make the african peanut soup any more) but there was another fangirl zoom and i can't say no to fangirls. and by the time we got off zoom it was getting dark and cold and i wasn't up for leaving the house. totally worth it, tho. i mean, fangirls. :D
in olympics news, a finnish cross-country skier
suffered from a frozen penis during his race. the weird thing is that this isn't even the first time this has happened to him. his peen froze during a race in november, too. you'd think between then and now he might have, i dunno, added some insulation to his cross-country bodysuit, but apparently not. or it was just that cold in china. the finns got the gold in men's hockey, so at least he could celebrate with his (warmer, with non-frozen boyparts) countrymen.
the brits got the gold in women's curling and the silver in men's, and when i read that i thought of
amberdreams. (sweden got the men's gold, and the us team which won in 2018 lost the bronze medal to canada. i'm honestly just glad they got that far, because i still think the gold last time was a fluke.)
obligatory lj/dw comment: i'm over there as
tsuki_no_bara, if you want to follow me there too, and i just copy-paste my posts from here. i'll probably be here until they turn off the lights and kick us all out, tho.
