at king richard's faire we saw... a service dog wearing wings. and not just any service dog. a service corgi. wearing little butterfly wings. (i mean, it was a ren faire.) so, so cute.
last month i ordered a new keyboard for one of my pi's students, and she still hasn't gotten it. amazon says it was delivered to the mailroom but the mailroom doesn't seem to have it. someone is looking for it. i have a horrible suspicion this is because i didn't include said student's office number in the address - she's a grad student, she gets an office - so the keyboard just went to [student] at [building street address]. >.< hopefully tomorrow the someone who's looking for it will have a clue where it went. apparently sometimes amazon just... leaves packages randomly in the building. because that's great customer service. :|
(is this what happens when you don't pay your delivery people enough and you treat them like crap on top of it?)
william shatner went into space this morning. jeff bezos's blue origin rocket took him into space for free, because come on, captain kirk should be allowed to hit the final frontier for real. i still find that immensely cool, and i don't even care that space travel for non-astronauts is really just a dick-measuring opportunity for the world's richest men. (william shatner is also ninety. which, wow.)
i watched the season finale of what if...? and i think it was fine? i still can't quite get into the show but i enjoyed some of the alternate versions of the characters. i also watched the season finale of archer, which was kind of "...what now?" they gave mallory archer - voiced by the late great jessica walters - a lovely send-off. i kind of buy it and kind of don't but in any case it was really nice good-bye.
also i'm two episodes into the second half of leverage: redemption and i think i might like it better than the first half. we'll see.
do i want a chocolate mug cake? i think i do.
