susan painted pictures sitting down like the buddha sat

i'm off tomorrow and monday for july fourth, so today is like friday. yay. :D i spent some quality time trying to caption a video of a presentation one of the groups i support did at a conference last year, and let me tell you, it's a lot harder to caption than the tutorials i was doing before. for one thing, every so often someone in the audience has a question (totally fair) but i can't understand a single word they're saying. but i need to be able to caption them, because there isn't always enough context for the question in the answer. it's exhausting. but it's very much something to do, so... maybe i shouldn't complain too much.

i discovered a show on netflix called dark - it's german and it's creepy and strange. it's set in the kind of small town where people grow up, marry their high school sweethearts, and raise their kids, who go on to marry their high school sweethearts and raise their kids in the exact same place. there's also a creepy cave network and a nuclear power plant and a couple missing kids, and it seems to rain a lot. oh, and there's time travel and philosophizing about same. it's confusing as hell, especially when they get into the different time periods because as i said, no one leaves, so you're meeting the younger versions of pretty much all the adults. and it's dubbed, which i don't love because a. half the teenagers now sound like adults, and b. everyone sounds like they're delivering their lines in a studio rather than in front of an actual camera on an actual set, and it's kind of distracting. but i need to know how the season ends.

day 2: a song you like with a number in the title - the nails, 88 lines about 44 women
(i guess it's the x-rated version because it has "fuck" in it. but that's the version i know.)
