yay friday

today was VERY SLOW at work. i really need more to do. >.< it was sunny and gorgeous for most of the day, and then it clouded over and i took a walk anyway, because a. i wanted to get out of the house, and b. i wasn't feeling it for yoga. i saw a bunny. :D

passover ended last night but i still had enough leftovers for a passover-friendly breakfast and lunch. and, uh, dinner. i may or may not have overbought on matzo. i took my bread out of the freezer, tho, so tomorrow i can have a real sandwich. ooh.

i'm watching friday night with the morgans, which is jdm and hilarie burton (well, i guess she's hilarie morgan now) sitting on their couch doing what amounts to a long-distance talk show. they've got a costar from the walking dead (christian someone? i don't watch the show so i don't know who she is), their good friend and family doctor, and jensen and danneel, and i desperately want to take a razor to jensen's face. i am not a fan of his facial hair. danneel looks great, tho. and they have a random fan! which is super cute. she has kids so they're all talking about how they're keeping their kids occupied in this time of pandemic and quarantine. for something that looks like a diy show, it's got a lot of producers and crew. my sister told me about it! of all people. i think jdm was the deciding factor. he's aging well. the only thing is that because it's all indoors, we didn't get to see his llama. (and no, that is not a euphemism.)

this is a little late, but beverly clearly is 104. holy shitballs. i think the only book of hers i read is the mouse and the motorcycle, but i don't think it matters what of her books you have or haven't read - everyone of a certain generation knows who beverly clearly is. and she's still alive, and she's 104.

even banksy is working from home. heh.

if your zoom meetings are getting kind of boring, you can invite a goat. and probably other farm animals. the farm is unsurprisingly quite booked. i mean, goats, come on.

The night sounds like a murder
of magpies and we’re replacing our cabinet knobs
because we can’t change the world, but we can
change our hardware. America breaks my heart
some days, and some days it breaks itself in two.
I watched a woman have a breakdown in the mall
today and when the security guard tried to help her
what I could see was all of us
peeking from her purse as she threw it
across the floor into Forever 21. And yes,
the walls felt like another way to hold us in
and when she finally stopped crying,
I heard her say to the fluorescent lighting, Some days
the sky is too bright. And like that we were her
flock in our black coats and white sweaters,
some of us reaching our wings to her
and some of us flying away.
