I enjoyed the way you used the prompt, even tacking it onto her studio. From the period details, I was wondering if you had a particular artists' colony in mind? I also loved Reynard as the god of art who inspired her to work again.
thank you! some of the studios are, uh, optimistically named.
the artists' colony is based in the vaguest possible way on macdowell and yaddo, by which i mean i looked at a bunch of pictures of the grounds and the artists' studios/cottages. :D
Oh, C! This is great stuff! Have you ever considered writing a ChickLit novel???? You sucked me in right away and I enjoyed the setting, the internalizations, and the dialogue! Of course, without knowing what this was going in, I kept waiting for some kind of horror or supernatural or sci-fi or futuristic twist and was delighted to find that none of that applies and it's a lovely romance! I think you should plot this out and write it!
i haven't considered writing chick lit, but i'm not opposed. i'm also really amused that you were expecting a genre twist. and i am in fact going to plot it out and write it, kind of, because this is basically prep writing for nano. :D i was trying to get a handle on some of the characters and setting before november. so i'm glad you liked it!
