(the season premiere of claws was on tonight. it's still impressively ott and the manicures are fucking nuts.)
my aunt's 80th birthday party was today - she had lunch at a hotel - there were like forty people there from the last fifty-odd years of her life. it was really nice, altho my sister and i were seated with some of my aunt's friends instead of, you know, our cousins. that was a little weird. but my aunt who is not a particularly demonstrative or warm person seemed really pleased at all the people who came, and that she has so many people she loves who love her who wanted to celebrate such a milestone with her. (she's not a bitch or a bad person or anything, just not the cuddliest human being.)
my parents came up for it, partly because she's half responsible for getting them together, and afterwards we went to my sister's to theoretically look at hawaii pictures and order chinese food. only one of those things happened, so consequently i have a lot of leftovers in my fridge.
the processing and sharing of hawaii pics proceeds exceeding slow. have some poi bread. i wasn't kidding when i said it was purple.

yesterday i met my sister and an out-of-town cousin on the other side for breakfast, then met tamalinn and another friend for brunch, then got my comics and we all walked back towards my car then i met my parents and sister for dinner. >.< so there's been a lot of not cooking this weekend. the weather yesterday was fantastic. totally go-outside-and-walk-around weather. and we saw an open house, which was stunning and expensive with some odd design choices - the current owner put her dining room in the hallway (it was in a converted victorian) and the kitchen was weirdly skimpy on counter space and cabinets for being a really big space. but there were a shit-ton of built-ins and a GARAGE. COVERED PARKING. HOMG. but it was a lot of money. maybe if i won the lottery....
yesterday was also boston pride, and you could tell who was going to the march by all the rainbow shirts and socks and accessories on the t. a guy from maine made a 900-foot rainbow flag to march with. that's a lot of flag. O.O
also fake pro-pride subway signs popped up around the nyc subway system.
air force fighter jets conducted a training fight and accidentally drew a dick with their contrails. oops?
portugal is offering citizenship to jews of portuguese descent, whose ancestors were kicked out of the country centuries ago. it's their way of trying to make restitution. people are taking them up on it.

the cat museum in san francisco will put you cat under the protection of the goddess bastet. they too can be listed with such protected kitties as taco salad and tuna catsserole, and newton who lives under taylor's mother's building.
speaking of cats, the swiss city of bern looks like a great place for outdoor kitties, on account of the cat ladders around town. because no one wants a bored cat.
