do you want curling links, o flist? because you're about to get curling links. :D they're mostly brought to you by the fact that tonight i learned that there's a curling club in new hampster hampshire where people use
teakettles filled with cement instead of the standard granite stones. sadly there are no pictures of these curling teakettles, but i
found some on amazon that might work. i guess when you gotta curl, you gotta curl.
i also found
curling peeps (scroll down),
lego curling,
vintage curling,
a curling cake, and
halloween curling. not to mention
plush stones and
fleece hats shaped like stones. also
really cute earrings. also also
a condiment set from 1937 and
a silver inkwell from 1902. both from scotland, because that's where curling was born.
those should hold me for a while. i like my weird little sport, ok? we won tonight, too. :D only half the other team was there so we won on a forfeit, but we did actually play and we did actually win. so, yay.
the only other thing of note that i did today was work on my bigbang some, altho i still don't have 20k yet. >.< but i added an intro type beginning and very slightly rewrote a scene towards the end and i don't totally hate everything i wrote today. also a yay. eventually i'll need a title, which is not so much a yay.
oh, and i made blueberry muffins. i bought blueberries last week because i had whipped cream and needed to put it on something, but the blueberries were too tart and when i hadn't eaten them in a week, i figured muffins were a good idea. i do love a homemade blueberry muffin.
yesterday i got two fillings >.< and then the comcast guy came! and did not exactly fix my cable, but did determine that the cable going into the house has a bad signal. so tomorrow or tuesday they'll come back and fix it. apparently i won't even know they've been here, except my cable will be more consistent. even more yay.
i was feeling it for mexican food, so
tamalinn and i went to a place near me i keep wanting to try, and which has among other things cheese-filled cactus paddles. (is it just me, or does "cactus paddles" sound like a kink thing?) i felt too carnivorous for a cactus dinner, but next time! we also got a tamale appetizer - chicken, fish, pork, veg, and coconut. (coconut. it was a little sweet, kind of like a dessert tamale.) they were soooo good. so, so good. the veg was my favorite - it had corn in it - but the fish and chicken were also delish. if you come visit and want mexican food (rather than "mexican"), i now have a place to take you. :D
