first, happy slightly late birthday to
charisstoma, writer and sharer of fun and weird shit. :D i hope you had a good day and that there was cake. and maybe glitter.
dancing boys: *boogie*
but also, rip bill paxton. game over, man. game over. :(
(hands up if your first exposure to him was as chet in weird science, or as the punkass who ends up giving arnold his clothes in the terminator.)
in much cheerier news, my sister and i saw sing this afternoon and it was so, so cute. also touching and funny with a lot of good songs. and a pig in a succession of glittery bodysuits. and a sheep in, er, a speedo. the only thing is we forgot that when you see a family-friendly animated movie on a sunday afternoon, the theater is going to be full of small children who talk through the previews. fortunately they hushed - and their parents told them to hush - for the actual movie.
i took some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to the movie. i still have a whole freezer bag full of them. >.<
yesterday i went shopping with
tamalinn so she could get some shirts and a suitcase. the trip was ultimately unsuccessful, but it got me out of the house. :D and last night i added a couple thousand words to my bigbang, a lot of which are probably going to be cut, but i've passed 13k which is exciting. the end is the only part that has any shape, and there's no actual beginning yet, and i think i've written most of the fun stuff already, but i'm making progress. more or less.
a neat pic of the recently-discovered seven planets and their sun. i freely admit my favorite part of this pic is that it looks like the sun has eyes.
at the very top of the chrysler building there used to be
a dentist and an architect's office and a couple of real estate developers. i don't know if any of them are still there, but what a neat place to have an office. patients could admire the view while getting tooth implants.
museum of the world, a bunch of timelines showing the connections among artifacts from all over the world.
i didn't watch the oscars but i imagine if there's anything worth seeing, i'll see it online tomorrow somewhere.
