yesterday i went to the dentist, got two fillings, went to the laundromat, did some laundry, went home, didn't know what to do with myself. >.< besides eat. eventually i shifted my ass to get my comics, but there was nothing in my box! O.O i did however get girl scout cookies, so the trip wasn't a total waste. and then i wrote a fic! which i posted last night. (i freely admit i got half the idea from a random episode of law & order: svu starring a very pretty eddie cahill as a male escort.)
and then i decided to make chocolate-chip oatmeal cookies. at about ten at night. the recipe made somewhere in the vicinity of a hundred cookies, which i know because i put them in the freezer before i went to bed, and it took two one-gallon freezer bags because i had ninety-two cookies. (i'd already eaten some.) they're little and crunchy (instead of being medium sized and soft) and not as oatmealy as i was hoping for, and they could use some cinnamon, but i have a lot of rolled oats left so when i eventually finish these i can make oatmeal-raisin ones. :D the recipe called for two cups of chocolate chips, but because i didn't have quite that much (on account of last weekend's bourbon maple pecan pie with chocolate chips), i just used leftover pecans to fill out the measuring cup. it worked.
i may or may not have gone to bed around five in the morning, because that's when i was finally tired. what's up with that, self? it meant i got a late start today, but i didn't curl until 8:30 (ARGH I HATE THE LATE DRAW) so it didn't really matter. i did 2000 words on my bigbang, knitted a couple of scenes together, hit 10k which means i might actually finish it by the deadline, and went to the grocery store.
it was sunny and weirdly warm today, like spring. it's too early to be spring. i was so confused. it was really nice weather, just... seasonally inappropriate.
i made a beautiful and oniony quiche for dinner and my curling team won by a lot. we were on the weird sheet, too. maybe the ice just liked us better than the other team.
(a takeout is when you throw your stone hard enough to knock the other team's stone out of the house, which is the big bulls-eye at the end of the sheet.)
timelapse video of the container ship gunhilde maersk traveling and unloading and loading. it is seriously so cool.
this is just a really cute short comic about a corner witch. i guessed how it was going to end but you should still read it. it really is cute.
