my fellow americans! if you haven't done so already, you need to vote tomorrow. if you don't, i will judge you, and i will judge you harshly. voting is one of the prices you pay - and one of the privileges you earn - for being a citizen, and way too many people have worked way too hard and suffered way too much for you to blow it off. besides, ( Read more... )

You had me at David Tennant. Also my cat. Who is not stressed out, but is at least no longer pestering me for pets when my hands are full. After I vote tomorrow, I am going to pour myself a stiff drink, possibly several, and then I will likely watch those videos and let you know if they also work on people.

Yay, word count! I was ahead, and then I took a couple days off and now I am behind, and Dean is still being a pissypants.

So, I have to confess a thing: I have, since meeting you, looked up curling videos. I do not get it. I don't get most sports, honestly, beyond baseball and volleyball, but I really don't get curling. It's entertaining as hell to watch though. I've taken to calling it the scrubby sport.

so have you watched david tennant's pet videos yet? do they work on people? i'm guessing they do, because they're very soothing (i couldn't watch either one for long because i was at work), but i'm curious to hear from someone who watched them longer than a minute.

i am still ahead! i need to be ahead in case there's a day i can't make my word count. now the problem is going to be fitting in all the story i want to fit in. and figuring out how it ends. >.< at what point do you know how your fics end?

i love that you're watching curling! i get it, but that's only because i've been playing for like nine years. ...that can't be right. anyway. i always refer to it as that weird canadian sport with the rocks and the brooms, but the scrubby sport is really cute.

So! Yes. I did watch. Works GREAT on cats. Not so much on me, because the cadence is weird, but holding the freaked out cat as he settled was relaxing. So there's that.

wait, you're overseas? i assume you eventually did get a ballot.

texas isn't going to go blue (altho i think at one point it was possibly a swing state, which, whut?) but your vote still matters.

:D Nanonovel! I want to know about the guy she meets before the nice Jewish boy. What's his name? Is he bohemian? :D Obviously she can't start with the nice Jewish boy, because well, there wouldn't be a story if she got there and found everything waiting for her.

i don't know who she meets before the nice jewish boy! he's definitely a bohemian, tho. a nice bohemian boy. :D i think he treats her as a fling, whoever he is, and she's PISSED when he breaks it off. also upset. also also her roommate is furious at him.

I hate that politics has become about choosing who is the least bad out of two very, very bad options.

i actually don't think they're both very, very bad options - i think trump is much, much worse - but a lot of times it does seem like you're picking the least offensive candidate to vote for, rather than picking someone whose policies (or at least some of whose policies) you support.
