today i was going to look for bookshelves and maybe check out some shoes while i was out there, but it was such a nice day that i couldn't bring myself to spend a chunk of it either in the car or getting lost in furniture stores. not that i did a lot otherwise, but at least i got outside.
yesterday was the
fluff festival, which celebrates the

The fluff festival sounds amazing, not something I could stomach much of anymore but teenage me loves the idea.
Too funny about Ray Bradbury. I wonder how often the cops got the call, had to respond but did so rolling their eyes because they already knew what they'd find.
I found the British Jews article really interesting. What kind of ties would they really have to Germany? Is it worth it to change your citizenship based on the whole unknown future mess Brexit has caused? There's also the fact my understanding is there's been a resurgence of antisemitism there (but it looks like the people are planning on staying in the UK but getting the German citizenship for EU purposes?) I dunno. The whole thing is so complicated but interesting.
I had no idea there were Chinese Jews either (I guess it makes sense that out of such a large population there'd be some, but I hadn't thought about it much). It's kind of sad though about how when that torah was taken from there (which, hello, taking their TORAH; missionaries bother me when they do stuff like that) most of the Jews couldn't read it. I hope they manage to maintain their culture, if not all the aspects of their religion. (I kind of teared up at this line though - “Judaism,” the host said, “is all about endurance.” - Truer words have never been spoken)

i love fluff and fluffernutters, but it's entirely possible i'm really seven. :D
imagine the local cops getting another "there's a strange man walking down the sidewalk!" call and just rolling their eyes, and then cruising up to ray bradbury and saying hi.
my best guess about the london jews is that they want to stay in the eu - there's a lot of benefits! - and if you were stripped of german citizenship during ww2, you and your descendants can have it back now. i find it deeply weird that british jews would actively seek german citizenship but at the same time i can almost understand. almost.
the existence of chinese jews is also deeply weird! but mostly SUPER COOL. i wonder how they celebrate passover - what do they stop eating? i mean, do they not eat rice? do they keep it at all? and yeah, it really is a religion of endurance.
