today i:
made chili in my crock pot
met
tamalinn and her very cute and occasionally very barky dog to run errands
bought comics
had a nice french dip for lunch
ate outside! partly because i was with
tamalinn and her very cute and occasionally very barky dog
had a really random and really fun conversation with two total strangers that was precipitated by the girl asking me what i was reading (the new issue of constantine), and went on to include ghostbusters and the blacklist (because i said the only thing i've seen leslie jones in was an episode where she has a conversation with james spader in a dmv or something) and cacw and jupiter ascending, which we all agreed wasn't a great movie but which i pointed out was action adventure space opera aimed at teenage girls, which made it pretty cool since no one makes those kinds of movies. and then a wild
lbmango appeared and we ended up talking about virtual reality and memory implants and weird cybernetic shit. it was so random! and fun! (the two total strangers were elliott and christina, and apologies to them for possibly spelling their names wrong, and yes when the guy introduced himself i thought of eliot from the magicians, altho i didn't see any similarities between the two)
watched last night's sleepy hollow (abbie and sophie get two thumbs up, jenny and joe are boring)
ate crock pot chili for dinner and was very pleased with myself
it was so nice out i couldn't cope. i'm not totally emotionally prepared for it to be spring yet, tho. i could've used another couple weeks of winter.
have some really fabulous photos of
ceilings in iranian mosques. homg.
the ghosts of london's victorian public toilets - back in the day (like, the nineteenth century), london built public toilets where you could pee for a penny. they're all abandoned now, but this photographer has been going around taking pictures of them in the wee hours of the morning.
blue glass beads found in bronze age danish grave came from king tut's glassmaker - in case you were wondering how far trade with egypt spread back then. archaeologists speculate that blue glass would go up to scandinavia from egypt and amber would come back the same way.
there's a demon of typos. heh. would his opposite be the patron saint of proofreaders?
