"hey, fuckface, have you seen my dog?" "have you tried the lobby?"

(i'm watching blade: trinity and the vampire pom just took a header out a window. i love the vampire pom.) (also ryan reynolds. hot and snarky, my favorite.)

happy birthday justhuman! thoughtful fangirl, gardener, and generally nifty person. :D cake and sparklers for all!

dancing boys: *tango*

i was so not emotionally prepared to go back to work today, altho to be honest it wasn't that bad. my inbox was full, but most of it was "do this when you get a chance" and not "THIS MUST BE DONE RIGHT THIS SECOND". mostly what it meant was i was nicely busy. which i like. and hey, it got me out of the house and gave me a reason to get dressed! and not sit around in my pajamas until dinnertime.

but i had plans for my time off! i could've assembled my lego quinjet, or started writing my bigbang, or at least gone to the library to do some research, or read a lot of comics, or taken a pair of pants to be hemmed (and that i really should have done, because they're work pants), or, uh, other stuff! i wrote my holiday project for writing group, at least, altho it's only supposed to be seven pages max and mine is nine. because of course it is. >.< tomorrow i must edit.

i did however make chicken posole in my slow cooker. it's good stuff. after seven hours slow cooking, the chicken shredded so nice.

over the weekend my curling club had a star-wars-themed in-club bonspiel, so last night there was a big cardboard cutout of an at-at on one wall of the rink, with a cardboard tauntaun on the other wall. very cute. it was the last night of the first half of the season and i made exactly one good shot, which wasn't even the shot i was supposed to make. >.< but it worked as a plan b. and now they switch all the teams around and i have no idea who i'm going to be playing with on sunday.

...that didn't come out right.

rebrickable shows you what else you can do with your lego sets, once you (or your kids) have put them together. nifty!

SPACE STAMPS! coming this year to a us post office near you!

in the early 2000s the chinese government built a city called ordos in inner mongolia that was supposed to attract a million people. they never came. now it's an abandoned city that was never inhabited by enough people to abandon it.

there's a victorian shopping street underneath an arcade in yorkshire. it apparently used to be ground level, until the arcade was built on top of it.

dog with deformed front legs gets 3d-printed ones, so he can stand and walk and run at a normal height. i love science. also dogs. :D

doggie love, architectural wtf, new job second floor, cooking, legos, stamps, architectural nifty, slack-ass, outer space, psa, curling
