i feel like i got so much shit done yesterday and today
first things first, flist: what are your favorite first lines from books? fiction, non-fiction, whatever.
i think my friday work plan for the rest of the summer is going to be "don't take lunch, leave an hour early". because then i can get a nice walk in and enjoy the weather, and because the entire office seems to be taking summer hours, there's fuck-all to do by the end of the day. yesterday i finished the first round of pencil edits on the printout of my bigbang, and today i finished typing them in. i took out 3200 words, yay. somewhere my beta beta is cheering.
today i also acquired a bunch of new comics, including, uh, a brand-new constantine #1 - i guess dc is rebooting him again - but also mad max: fury road furiosa, even tho i don't particularly like the art. (i haven't read it yet. but there were a couple pages of preview online.) sometimes i am a very easy sell.

this artist decorated a bunch of snails' shells to prevent them from being stepped on. the project is called... snailpimp.
dilophosaurus dress - basically a dress with a frill, if you need to wear something swanky but don't want to deny your inner dinosaur geek.
i'm watching fantastic four because chris evans and it is really, really dumb. flaming evans notwithstanding.
