it was so nice today i was overcome with sun
so today i hauled my ass out of bed slightly earlier than i like to haul it on saturday, so i could go to the dentist and they could deep-clean my teeth. this involved stabbing my gums with a long thin syringe to inject me with painkillers so the hygienist could dig around under my gums. she thought i was weird because i thought the syringe was cool. it was a metal one with a glass cylinder, like a vintage syringe, and i just think vintage medical equipment is really cool.
getting painkillers injected in half your mouth feels so weird, tho. half my mouth was numb. but my teeth feel really clean.
after it wore off, i went out and bought a little cream puff and walked to the square to go to the comic store, because it was free comic book day and i'm always down for free comics. and there was a girl dressed as peggy carter! i don't know why i was surprised to find a cosplayer in the comic store, but i was. i actually started talking to her friend first, because the friend was wearing a jacket designed to look like the top part of natasha's black widow catsuit, with the widow's bites around her wrists. (i thought she said it came from we love fine, but i can't find it on their web site.) she also had natasha's arrow necklace from catws, and arrow earrings, and little captain america shield earrings. i ask if she'd just seen age of ultron, and she said no, she was going later, and then i saw her friend who was dressed as peggy. so of course i told her she needed an angie. and then i was a weirdo and asked if i could take their picture, and of course they said yes, and since i didn't ask a. what their names were, or b. if they minded if i posted the pic online, i feel too weird posting it to, you know, post it. but trust me when i say they were adorable.
also, a guy brought in a pomeranian with a lion cut, which to be honest i think looks kind of stupid on any creature than isn't an actual lion. poms are cute, tho. it was just shaved from the shoulders down, with a full fluff of fur around its head. which looked silly.
i found a coloring book called color me swoon in the card store. actor beefcake (plus one direction :D ) for your coloring-in pleasure. i thought it was cute.
today was also somerville open studios, which is always the same weekend as free comic book day, and i saw a whopping three studios. >.< and one i stopped at because they guy had hung all his photos on the fence between his driveway and the house next door. i didn't even have to go inside. and one was farwing. i bought a couple of cards from this girl, and now i need to find little frames.
while i was out and about i took way too many pictures of flowers and trees and houses, but it's spring and everything is ridiculously photogenic.
yesterday i sent in my bigbang draft which means it's clearly time to start thinking about next year's bang. >.< i may or may not have already started to cast it. >.< also i gave some thought to danny and lily as i was walking around, because they have a picnic in central park and sit under a cherry tree that sheds on them. and there are a lot of suspiciously cherry-tree-like pink trees in my neighborhood.
a couple of star wars fans sent an x-wing into the stratosphere in an attempt to win vip tickets to the force awakens. the video's pretty cool. i mean, come on, model x-wing in space.
