one down, four to go! maybe five, because now i have an idea for a ficlet in which lily goes to california for someone's wedding, and it's early enough in the relationship that she doesn't even consider bringing danny as her plus one, and he drinks too much at his friends' dinner party and calls her to tell her he misses her and to recite badly-remembered and probably fairly erotic love poetry over the phone. and she tells him to stop, she's at a family function, she'll be home soon, he needs to go home and go to bed. (he probably is home. but he reallyreallyreally needs to tell her how much he loves and misses her.) (and then when she does come home, he meets her at the airport with a rose. which is fun since she also called a car service to pick her up.)

anyway. a little romance for your morning. :D i thought you might appreciate it. i think this was the first scene i could spin into an actual story, so it came out first.

dolley is not a little yippy lapdog. dolley is a pitbull. she's very sweet but not very bright, and she loves EVERYONE.

and no, lily's age matters not at all to danny, at least not here. i think he's aware of the age difference mostly as an experience difference, and if he gave it any thought he might find it weird that there's thirty-three years between them, but he doesn't give it any thought.

Lily is clearly awesome. No yippy dogs for her, and also no silly distracting phone conversations during a family function. But I bet she's still flattered by that call :D

My friend has a pitbull named Rosey. She is very white with the pinkest nose to ever pink, and she's also adorable.

she is flattered! but it's kinda weird to have love poems recited at her while she's among family members at someone's wedding, y'know?

the landlady's son who lives behind me has pitbulls too. (pebbles and bo. they're loud but not vicious.) i just think they're so cute.
