i had to sit at reception again today, but at least it was a good hair day. (those kinds of things are important to me. i know you're all surprised.) and it was 50º! and all the snow is melting! like, REALLY melting.
quickie reminder what it looked like about a month ago:
and this is what it looks like now:
i really am parked that far from the curb, because the last time i drove anywhere (sunday, when i went to curling) i couldn't get any closer on account of snow. i have shoveled nothing. it all melted. as of sunday night there was still a big wedge of snow at the end of the curb that i parked close enough to that i was worried i was scratching the side of my car. (because it was icy.) and now it's all gone.
my reaction to the finale of the 100 is pretty much "holy shit, this show". it's kind of dark and i like it! i don't want to have to wait for a new season, tho. ugh, hiatus.
towards the end of the 19th century, a french postman started collecting stones and building a palace. it took him thirty-three years and now
you can visit it.
a town in italy
got 100" of snow in eighteen hours, which unsurprisingly (altho unofficially) breaks a world record.
have some pictures. i can't even begin to imagine having to shovel all that. i mean, boston got a lot of snow, but not all in one day.
