i got sushi for my birthday (yay!) and a dissatisfying haircut (not so yay)
thank you all for the birthday wishes (here, there, and everywhere!) and the v-gifts! every year i get a bunch of birthday wishes on facebook from people i never talk to, there or anywhere else, and it kind of makes me giggle. the parental unit took me out for sushi and got me a crock pot, and my sister is going to take me to the superlux movie theater with the armchairs and the food when the hobbit #3 comes out, so all in all it was a nice day.
also i got my hair cut, because it was looking kind of shaggy, and the stylist blew it straight and i don't actually like it. she never blows it out because i don't own a hair dryer, and she cuts my hair to be curly, but this one time she asked if she could do it, and it said sure, why not. (it's my birthday blow-out. :D ) my mom loved it and my sister loved it and i even got a couple compliments at the comic shop, and i still don't like it. i don't look like me, by which i mean i have my mom's hair and my sister's hair and the stylist's hair but not my hair, and i look like all these other people and i don't want to look like everyone else. fortunately all i need to do to fix it is stick my head under the shower. :D
today is also marjane satrapi's birthday. (have you read persepolis?) i feel kind of honored to share a birth date with her.
