i am never getting over this, seriously
holy shit, it's june. i know, it's been june for three days. sometimes it takes a few days for it to really settle in.
still consumed by my desire for punk!bucky and hipster!steve, by which i mean a desire to write it. also excessively intimidated by the size of mcu fandom and the quality of the two au's i've read, so much so that all i really feel qualified to do is make notes on my phone while i'm waiting for the bus. (and while i'm standing in line at the post office.) also also half convinced my understanding of canon is off just enough that any au i might write - and i've even actually written one, and there's a reason no one's seen it but chaneen and azewewish - will be closer to original fic. which i'm already writing. but this is the one time it's not enough to just know that an au exists - i have to make it exist, whether it already does or not.
no one is ever going to believe me when i tell them i feel like a fannish anomaly because i'm not in it for the fic, and aside from my first couple years in spn, i never have been.
which is of course why i'm doing a fanfic meme. >.<
2. Something new - talk about a new fanwork of yours!
i thought this meant, like, something i'm working on now, which would be either my bigbang or the aforementioned steve/bucky au, but i'm not 100% sure how much of the bang i can talk about and i've already talked about the au. but evidently it means a finished fanwork. which, well. last fanfic i wrote was in february, because olympics.
gold medal dreams, in which jared wrecks his chance for a gold medal and jensen makes him feel better about himself. written for a commentfic meme because i misread a prompt, and because i watched what felt like a lot of olympics events. (i watched some curling at work, because it was never on tv at a time i could actually see it.) i even did some research, because i am apparently incapable of making shit up when i can look it up. so, lots of alpine skiing schedules, and clips of skiers wiping out on the downhill. ouch. and who medaled in the men's alpine events at the vancouver olympics. i think it was for that olympics that i read about the 100k condoms in the athletes' village, because surprise surprise, olympians have a lot of sex. they ran out realllly quickly.
