ugh, my hair

today was not a good hair day. i felt like i was channeling my inner winter soldier - very GET ME THE GARDEN SHEARS, WHERE ARE THE GARDEN SHEARS, THIS MOP MUST GO. i'm getting it cut on saturday and i am VERY EXCITED.

(it was still a bit humid out, and by "humid" i mean "it rained". which also means i'm still doing my best humid bunny impression. we are one with the floof out here.)

my writing group is down to four people now. one of the girls had to go on indefinite hiatus. (another one is on temporary hiatus, but we don't know when she's coming back.) tonight there were only three of us, which is ABSURD. and i don't love hosting it, altho as i am the most convenient location i kind of have to suck it up. anyone know anyone in the greater boston area who's looking for a writing group to join?

on the t there are these ads for something called squarespace, and one of them shows a laptop displaying a web site for someone (i think a musician) called bucky butler, and i read it wrong and do a double-take EVERY TIME. and then i facepalm because really, self? really?

and now i'm wondering how big the captain america fandom is in the mcu. fan sites and facebook pages and tumblrs devoted to the temporally displaced mr rogers. are there fangirls tracking his movements across dc? writing cap/falcon and steve/bucky rps? i mean, i'm assuming the avengers are reasonably public figures, especially after new york. pierce wanted iron man to show up at his niece's birthday party, so you have to assume the niece and her friends know enough about him to be super excited by the prospect. imagine a web site devoted to black widow sightings, full of pictures of unidentifiable redheaded women surreptitiously taken on people's phones.

according to wikipedia, the ymca really did used to conduct naked swim classes. the filters in the pools were kind of crappy and people were worried that clothing fibers would clog them. so, naked swimmers. oddly enough this was not mentioned on the official ymca site.

also apparently the first y in the us was in boston. :D (it was founded in london! i never knew that.)

people who look like doughnuts. mmm, doughnuts.

ymca, captain america, writing group, doughnuts, bad hair days, historical hee
