today got a late start but was a good day
oh my flist, today was such a nice day. SO NICE. altho i didn't leave the house until after four because i am the laziest of asses. but also i have tomorrow off on account of memorial day, so i could slack like a slacking thing today. and at least i did the dishes and went to the grocery store. and picked up my comics. and sat around and just enjoyed being in the sun. and, er, listened to the same couple of songs on repeat on my ipod, because it made sense at the time. and i thought about all the stories and characters now cluttering up my brain, and wondering how i'd answer those "ten signs you're reading a story by me" memes, aside from "eventually there will be two boys with a thing for each other", i guess.
even tho there isn't an actual story in my brain - except for my bigbang, which... bigbang! i'm excited about it - it's really really nice to have an assortment of potential stories to think about.
this is completely random, but one of the things i really like about where i live is that every time i walk by the movie theater in davis square - EVERY TIME - i'm assaulted by popcorn smell. even if the doors are closed. it's overwhelming and it just makes me so weirdly happy.
i'm watching 27 dresses and y'know, james marsden's character, as cute as he is, starts out kinda creepy and obnoxious and vaguely stalkery. he does have what i think is the best speechlet in the movie, tho, when he tells jane that his favorite part of a wedding is at the beginning of the ceremony when the bride is processing down the aisle, and he looks at the groom, at the expression on the groom's face when he sees his future wife coming towards him. and i just think that's so sweet and romantic, especially coming from someone as self-professedly cynical as he is.
also, ok, i think james marsden is fucking adorable.
i like this movie. all the bridesmaid's dresses are ridiculous, and anyone who's ever been a bridesmaid will laugh at "and you can wear it again!" - because the only bridesmaid's dresses you will ever wear outside of the wedding for which you bought them are bridesmaid's dresses that you bought at a normal (ie, non-bridal) store - but, look, i like weddings. and i kinda like how kevin and jane's relationship progresses, even if he does start out being an ass.
now i must throw in some laundry and water my plants. fun! excitement! hydration!
