30 days of babble, dec 6 - haven finale

first, happy birthdays to othercat (today) and lady-yashka (yesterday)! i know sushi figured in at least one of those celebrations, but might i also suggest some cake?

dancing boys: *two-step*

beadslut wanted me to talk about the haven finale, except it's next week. so i guess i should talk about tonight's episode.

first, vince and dave are such an old married couple. i bet even when they were young, they were an old married couple. "you never told me your tattoo was fading in and out!" "well you never told me you finished the jam!" i am completely unsurprised they keep secrets from each other. interesting that dave was adopted, too. i didn't know what to read into it, so i didn't read anything.

when jennifer kept complaining that the book wasn't giving her any more clues as to how to find the door, i kept thinking "have you considered reading it?" there's still something about her that annoys me, and this week it was her "but i know you!" and etc to duke. (i just thought yeah, and how long have you known him? busting him out of the hospital and then sleeping with him doesn't mean you really know a guy.) also is it me or did he have more chemistry in his scenes with audrey than he did with jennifer? the "wait, did you and william start the troubles?" revelation in the herald office and both the "you can't give someone else a trouble" and the "you have to re-trouble me" scenes.

and nathan wasn't too much of a dick! i didn't want to smack him! altho i think him telling audrey that he has faith in her and he believes she can kind of reconnect with original audrey and still stay herself is kind of, well, didn't she just tell him that she always wondered who she was, because she was never sure who she was? last season she talked about sarah as if they were the exact same person and because sarah loved the colorado kid, of course audrey did too. (even tho she'd never met him.) so it's totally understandable for her to be afraid of finding out who original audrey was, if original audrey was apparently this horrible evil person and current audrey already tends to conflate all her previous selves into one person. and while it's nice that nathan has faith that she'll still be the audrey he knows and loves, he's not exactly listening to her worries.

ok, so maybe i kindofsortof wanted to smack him a little bit. but the impulse wasn't nearly as strong as it's been.

i had a thought about duke which i have completely forgotten (and which had nothing to do with jennifer), except i'm pretty sure it had to do with the fact that he wants to be re-troubled because he thinks it's their best option to stop the harker curse. (and as an aside, i realllly wanted mrs harker to be named mina.) i think it's a bad idea, because we know how he felt about it the first time, but i guess it's the best of the bad ideas.

oh, jennifer, i did kind of want to smack her, with her "you have to come help me with the door right now! you need to be the fourth person right this second! why do you have to help audrey?" does the finding of the door and the shoving of william through it have a deadline? and it won't stop the troubles anyway, will it? whereas the baby was going to wake up and start squalling and someone was going to die. and why can't duke do both? let audrey re-trouble him, kill dad harker (i can't remember his first name), add some angst to his life, go back to the lighthouse and be the fourth person around the sigil on the floor.

and speaking of re-troubling, i think audrey does give duke his trouble back. i'm not sure he then uses it to kill dad harker, tho.

and y'know, for all that william probably can't be trusted, i think he was right that he and original audrey started the troubles.

i don't think any of that made any sense.

in other news, i sort of liked elementary last night altho the structure of the episode was confusing, and i liked(ish) white collar mostly because it wasn't quite as bad as i was expecting. plus! peter's ex is colette from soa! neal and rare-book girl apparently getting involved was so inevitable it was boring, tho. and didn't he create the book's chapter thirteen from scratch? like, it's a fake? i haven't really been paying attention to that subplot so now i don't remember where chapter thirteen came from.

i'm waiting for it to snow and so far it hasn't. hmph.
