What I just finished reading:
jonathan strange and mr norrell, FINALLY. i've been reading it for two months, because it is just that big. jeebus. i didn't like a lot of the characters for a lot of the book, which made it occasionally very hard to read, but i kept wanting to know what happened next. i thought the ending was satisfying altho i'm not sure how i feel about the very end, like the last couple pages. mostly i can't believe it took me two months to read. i scared a couple people at work with the size of it. i did like the footnotes, tho. the footnotes were really fun.

What I am reading now:
thieftaker, by db jackson, which i actually started wincon weekend, because i needed something to read when i was waiting in airports and i wasn't going to bring jonathan strange and mr norrell because did i mention, huge. thieftaker is set in colonial boston and is about a thieftaker - a guy who retrieves stolen goods - who just happens to be kind of a witch. sort of colonial era urban fantasy. so far so good.

What I'm going to read next:
i think shadows in bronze, by lindsey davis, altho i should maybe read something i already own before i go buying something new. also i have bad houses, a graphic novel written by sara ryan and drawn by carla speed mcneil (which is why i bought it), and i kind of want to read it before saturday so i can report back to the comic shop as to how good it was.

my skin is dry and i itch EVERYWHERE. and i'm too tired to work on my nanonovel so as soon as i post this i'm going to bed. i've been a bit behind for a few days, so what's one day more. i'm not sure what happens next, altho i know what happens after that.

criminal minds tonight was set in boston which does not look like that, especially not on the street they mentioned. and the bau found someone by checking a phone with the wrong area code. (508, which is outside boston. it should've been 617. not that anyone will know this besides people who live here, or call here regularly.) it was kind of a hug the unsub episode and a bit creepy. on the other hand, the very end was really cute.

if you see any ghosts or spiritual entities whilst traveling on the london underground.... hee.

not one but two clips of tom hiddleston dancing. (maybe it's just his suit and skinny pants, but in the first clip he looks like nothing, like he would blow away in a stiff wind.) whatever else you might want to say about him, you have to give the guy points for being game for pretty much anything.

delightful victorian slang. you know, if your language was getting kind of boring.
