more historical houses and some links of nifty

i burned a bagel with cheese on it earlier - i am utterly incapable of calibrating my toaster correctly to get a nice toasted bagel and not a BURNED ONE - i turned the temperature down and it didn't actually defrost the bagel, so i turned it up and now everything is burning, so i turned the "toast color" knob closer to "lighter" and i don't think that actually did anything - and now my house smells like toasted cheese. >.< which makes me hungry but i don't want to waste another bagel in the fucking toaster. bah.

one of the partners at work had a birthday today, so one of the admins made him a carrot cake. so i had carrot cake for lunch and it was SO GOOD. i love me some carrot cake.

today's lunchtime walk of historical random took me past paul revere's house (which has been a house museum since 1908 or something), the house where john f kennedy's mom was born (or at least a four story brick building in the place where the house used to be) (it has thirteen - count 'em - units) (i can't imagine how small they must be), and the ebenezer hancock house (the first floor of which housed a shoe store for almost two hundred years). and a bunch of bars. and italian bakeries, which i did not go into because i had carrot cake for lunch. the weather was kind of crappy but the walk was fun.

architecture for dogs! complete with blueprints so you can build your own.

3d photos from ww1 - from a camera that someone bought at an estate sale. you have to make gifs to get the 3d effect, and they kind of give me a headache. still, super cool.

doggie love, historical nifty, ww1, beaten by the technology, i love where i live, new job big office
