the x-files premiered twenty years ago today. do you feel old? because i kinda feel old. i feel a need to rewatch it, too. (to be honest i blame
chaneen for this.)
here are seven things to thank the show for. not mentioned: A LOT of early spn episodes. also, kim manners.
i have a dvd box set of homicide: life on the street that contains the entire run of the series, three crossover episodes, and a tv movie. (amazon had a sale.) if there isn't an equivalent for the x-files, there should be. they could throw in the failed lone gunmen series, or maybe the two movies. i realize we're talking about a shit-ton of dvd's. that's ok.
the mytharc got away from chris carter (AND HOW) and you could totally tell when he checked out, and the last season or two were, uh, well, i like robert patrick and annabeth gish but really, it wasn't remotely the same, but y'know, it was a cool show.
also found on mental floss, and super cool -
this is how shakespeare's plays sounded the very first time they were performed. the history of accents is pretty fascinating.
dog, meet hedge. hedge, meet dog. thank
embroiderama for this little bit of adorable. i did. :D
this caption writer really had some fun with their job. photos from the toronto international film fest. captions from a snarky editor who has a thing for benedict cucumberpatch cumberbatch.
from yesterday -
apple pie lasagna and
pumpkin pie lasagna. you're welcome.
i met
gnomi for lunch today and did not bend her ear about my (hopefully temporary) issues with next year's bigbang. go me. :D
