i work in a reasonably touristy part of boston, so there's always someone taking pictures, and today it was a couple of people holding up their tablets to take pictures with them. really, people? do you not have cameras? or at least cameras on your phones? do you realize you look kind of stupid holding up your ipad like that?
i feel like i got a lot accomplished yesterday:
woke up early enough to meet the parental unit for brunch
read a lot of the sunday paper
collected an assortment of produce and perishables from the parental unit (who went on vacation yesterday) and the sister unit (who left on friday)
went to the grocery store
did the dishes
prepped some of the aforementioned produce so it will ideally keep longer
did some more dishes
also laundry
made dinner
did i mention i washed dishes?
spent almost two hours on my bigbang
corrupted the file when i accidentally nudged the power cord out of my laptop and it shut down
(my laptop doesn't have a battery in it. if you unplug it, it dies.)
hated myself for a little bit
hated my laptop more
managed to retrieve the file altho i lost all the formatting (italics mostly) and the comments
managed to add the comments back in, altho now it looks like they're all from me rather than some from me and some from my beta
watched the killing, which i enjoyed altho i couldn't understand half the dialogue on account of a. very quiet voices, and b. mumbling. SPEAK UP, PEOPLE. I CAN'T READ LIPS AND I HATE CLOSED CAPTIONING.
i dunno, is that a lot? i didn't water my plants.
mostly i wish i'd had more than two hours for my bigbang. i am having such issues with that story, i can't even tell you, altho most of them boil down to "i don't want to do this any more". i'd scrap it except i post in two weeks and i can't do that to my artist. i don't have time to make it into the fic i think it can be, not if i want my beta to be able to read it over for a second round of edits, and not if i want to then be able to implement at least some of her suggestions. and i'm irritated at myself because i had the entire month of june to work on it, and i did nothing.
on the plus side, i survived my first day without coworker d. (my team, such as it is, is three people - me, d, and a woman in connecticut, who isn't always particularly reliable.)
