so i went to florida and didn't tell anyone
first, happy birthday to charisstoma, sharer of nifty vocabulary words and occasional ficcer. sounds like it was a good one, or at least a cakey one. :D

i kinda feel like i should apologize to anyone who might've friended me in the past month or so because they actually wanted to read my lj - i got a job and stopped posting! oh, and also i went to florida. :D my parents rented a condo near sarasota for february, so my sister and i went down for a long weekend. we sat around and walked on the beach (where i almost stepped on a (live!) crab) and went to a cabaret show and stuffed our faces. the weather was mostly good, altho humid, and there was some fog which was pretty cool. i like fog, what can i say. fun was had, sun was gotten, giant fried fish sandwiches were et. and now i'm home and percolating with fic idea, yay.
i had vaguely unsatisfying chinese takeout for dinner, tho. the eggplant was good but the dumplings were kind of disappointing. but i have leftovers for breakfast. :D
oh, and we watched the oscars. it's the first oscars i've watched in years and i mostly enjoyed it. (i generally like seth macfarlane.) but i thought the intro with william shatner went on too long. but i liked the singing and dancing - channing tatum and charlize theron! (my sister and i trying to explain to our mom the joke about channing and waxing was, er, let's say "interesting".) jgl and daniel radcliffe! adele! shirley bassey! - and that argo won best picture. my sister and i decided that the oscars should have a female host next year, tho.
