bigbang progress!

scenes left to write: none until my beta tells me there are
title? yes!
summary? yes!
prognosis: DRAFT TURNED IN

so, hey, i finished it. woo. :D i celebrated by making pancakes for dinner, because i am an adult and if i want to have pancakes for dinner, i am damn well going to have pancakes for dinner. even if i don't have any maple syrup left and can't get the bottle of karo open. >.< (does karo go bad? it's corn syrup, for them who might not be familiar. i inherited two bottles from my first roommate in my first somerville apartment, so i've had them for a while. altho if i can't get the bottles open, i guess it doesn't matter if the stuff's still good or not.)

(when i was a wee thing and lived in nashville, i put karo on my pancakes. i knew about maple syrup as a concept, but back then the closest thing was, like, aunt jemima, and to be honest i always liked karo better.)

it was a beautiful day today, and i had to spend most of it at work. >.< if it's as nice tomorrow i plan to walk in it and take some pictures.

today's poem (because it's still saturday) is "the impulse" (from the hill wife) by robert frost.

It was too lonely for her there,
And too wild,
And since there were but two of them,
And no child,

And work was little in the house,
She was free,
And followed where he furrowed field,
Or felled tree.

She rested on a log and tossed
The fresh chips,
With a song only to herself
On her lips.

And once she went to break a bough
Of black alder.
She strayed so far she scarcely heard.
When he called her --

And didn't answer -- didn't speak --
Or return.
She stood, and then she ran and hid
In the fern.

He never found her, though he looked
Everywhere,
And he asked at her mother's house
Was she there.

Sudden and swift and light as that
The ties gave,
And he learned of finalities
Besides the grave.
